Are you a faithful, expository preacher called to shepherd a congregation and uphold the absolute truth of Scripture? Salem Church of Rough & Ready is seeking a dedicated Pastor to serve as our spiritual leader. We need a visionary who will keep our church community grounded in the Reformed tradition and deepen our faith through the uncompromised teaching of God's Word.

A member of the Evanglical Association of Reformed & Congregational Christian Churches, we are an independent Bible church in Schuylkill County, PA. We are absolutely committed to:

• The Deity of Jesus Christ: Teaching and defending the full Godhead of Jesus.

• The Bodily Resurrection: Proclaiming the historical and physical resurrection of our Lord as the center of our hope.

• Atonement: Clearly articulating salvation through Christ’s substitutionary death on the cross.

• Fulfilling the Great Commission through deep discipleship and community engagement.

Key Responsibilities

The Pastor will collaborate with elders and deacons to faithfully preach the Bible and equip members for ministry. This includes:

• Expository Preaching: Serving as the primary preaching voice, delivering robust, engaging, and doctrinally sound sermons.

• Teaching & Discipleship: Deepening the congregation’s biblical and theological knowledge through focused teaching and curriculum development.

• Pastoral Care: Providing compassionate shepherding, counseling, and officiating church ceremonies.

• Community Engagement: Building relationships within our rural community and leading outreach initiatives.

Qualifications

• Meets the biblical qualifications of an elder (1 Tim 3, Titus 1).
• Valid ordination within a recognized Reformed denomination.
• Deep passion for, and strong theological knowledge of, God's Word.
• Gifted at correcting theological misunderstandings with patience and precision.

Experience/Skills

• Minimum of 5 years of church leadership experience (Pastor or board member).
• Strong public speaking, conflict resolution, and administrative abilities.
• A servant-leader who displays humility, integrity, and love for God and people.
• Committed to personal Bible study, prayer, and continuing education.
