Sand Lake Baptist Church is seeking a Holy Spirit lead man to lead us in a revitalization work here in Anchorage, Alaska.

Job Description

If you are looking for a ministry challenge combined with an Alaskan adventure, then Sand Lake Baptist Church just might be the place the Lord would have you serve.

In the past, our average morning attendance was in the 80's. We had ministries for all ages. However, COVID restrictions hit us hard and we've not recovered. Our pastor of 12 years had to retire for health reasons and this has left us with a small congregation with an average age of 60 years old. We still believe the Lord has a future for us and we are looking to Him to send us a younger man to lead us.

The qualifications of the pastor we seek are set forth in 1 Timothy 3:1-7 and Titus 1:5-9 and will have graduated from Bible College. He will be responsible to preach the Word of God, administer the Lord's supper, perform baptisms and provide counsel when needed. In short, we are looking for a man of God who will faithfully shepherd the flock by feeding, leading and example. (1 Peter 5:1-4).

Compensation

Due to our size, we are unable to pay a pastor a full-time salary. A man willing to work a part-time job or one with supplemented income will be best suited for the ministry here. A parsonage is part of the church building we own. Should a man or man and wife choose to live there, housing as well as utilities will be covered by the church.
