  • Time Commitment: 15-20 hours per week, including Sundays at 10:30 AM, rehearsals, and pastoral training.

Job Description

Responsibilities:

  • Music Leadership (Primary Focus):
    • Plan and lead music for Sunday worship services at 10:30 AM at the Grey Forest Community Center, selecting songs that are biblically sound and encourage congregational worship.
    • Choose a blend of traditional hymns and contemporary worship songs that reflect conservative Baptist values and complement verse-by-verse preaching.
    • Coordinate and rehearse with volunteer musicians and vocalists to build a unified worship team.
    • Maintain musical instruments and sound equipment to ensure quality worship experiences.
  • Pastoral Development:
    • Participate in pastoral training, including studying Scripture and assisting with teaching opportunities (e.g., small groups or youth ministry).
    • Support pastoral staff in planning special events, such as community outreaches or holiday services, to grow our church plant.
    • Engage in one-on-one discipleship and mentorship with church leadership to develop pastoral skills.
  • Church Plant Involvement:
    • Contribute to the vision of Hometown Church as a new congregation, helping to foster community and invite new members to join our mission.
    • Assist with outreach efforts, such as community events or personal invitations, to share the Gospel in our city.

Qualifications:

  • A committed Christian with a clear testimony of faith, passionate about serving in a conservative Baptist church aligned with the Baptist Missionary Association.
  • Musical proficiency in leading congregational singing, with skills in at least one instrument (e.g., piano, guitar) and/or vocal leadership.
  • Ability to read music and arrange songs for a small worship team.
  • A teachable spirit, eager to grow in pastoral ministry and music leadership under pastoral guidance.
  • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills to connect with our growing congregation.
  • Previous experience in worship leading or church ministry is a plus but not required.
  • Enrollment in a college, seminary, or ministry training program is preferred.
