Pastoral Intern/Worship leader
Job Overview
Our part-time Pastoral Intern serves as worship leader at Christ's Community Church, a growing church plant, where they'll have unique opportunities to shape worship culture from the ground up while leading congregational singing and collaborating with the Pastor on song selection. The role maintains a balance of contemporary songs, traditional hymns, and psalms in this formative season of our church's life. In the entrepreneurial environment of a church plant, the intern will have significant influence in identifying and developing musical talent within the congregation, training tech volunteers, and participating in various pastoral duties including preaching 4-6 times annually, assisting in leading worship, and helping establish core ministry practices through prayer meetings and church gatherings.
Administrative responsibilities encompass worship service preparation, social media management, and general church communication support, with the opportunity to develop systems and processes that will serve the church for years to come. The role includes engaging in evangelistic outreach through community events and ministry development, particularly vital in our church planting context. The position requires 20 hours per week with competitive compensation and offers vacation benefits including two weeks annually.
The ideal candidate will be pursuing or have completed M.Div. studies and will receive regular mentoring and evaluation while participating in the full life of our growing church, including Session and Diaconal meetings once a quarter. This role provides distinctive opportunities for professional development through continued theological education and hands-on ministry experience in a church plant setting, working closely with church leadership to serve and shape our developing congregation. Supporting our Teaching Pastor in outreach initiatives and providing pulpit supply to neighboring churches as needed rounds out this dynamic ministry position that combines worship leadership, pastoral development, and administrative responsibilities—all within the exciting and formative context of a church plant.
