Job Overview

We hire 3 men every year to work with our pastoral team for 12 months. We want to help them develop in Christ-like character, core convictions, and ministry competence, as they clarify their calling and participating in the gospel culture of our team (https://www.parksidechurch.com/visit/our-team/). We have them work alongside the pastoral staff, rotating through all the ministries, attending staff meetings, and learning to teach the Bible by teaching on a weekly basis in different contexts. And we work hard to help guys discern what's next and get to the next place. It's full-time pay and full benefits, including spouse, and for single guys we provide housing.

Job Description

The residents rotate through all the ministries. There are 3 rotations, each lasting 4 months and entails working with a cohort of 3 pastors. During those 4 months the residents participate in the various ministries of those pastors. Residents will have weekly teaching and leadership opportunities in the youth ministry throughout the residency. In addition to rotating through all the ministries and serving in the youth ministry, residents are given the opportunity to shadow pastors during hospital visits, funeral and wedding planning, and other routine pastoral responsibilities. Residents are expected to participate in staff meetings, staff prayer, and Sunday services. Those who sense a calling to missions will have their responsibilities tailored to include missions related ministries and opportunities.
