Job Overview

The Play Place Coordinator oversees the daily operations, safety, and guest experience of the play facility. This role ensures the play place is a welcoming, fun, and safe environment for children and families. The coordinator manages staff/volunteers, maintains equipment and cleanliness, organizes programs and events, and ensures compliance with safety standards.

Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

Operations & Safety

  • Supervise daily operations of the play place to ensure a safe and enjoyable environment.
  • Monitor play equipment and facilities; coordinate repairs, maintenance, and inspections.
  • Enforce safety policies and procedures for children, families, and staff.

Guest Services

  • Greet and engage with families, ensuring excellent customer service.
  • Handle inquiries, concerns, and feedback with professionalism and care.
  • Create a welcoming and family-friendly environment that fosters repeat visits.

Staff & Volunteer Management

  • Recruit, train, schedule, and supervise staff and/or volunteers.
  • Provide ongoing coaching and leadership to ensure team excellence.
  • Foster a positive and collaborative team culture.

Programming & Events

  • Plan and implement family-friendly activities, themed events, and community programs.
  • Partner with other ministries, organizations, or local businesses to expand offerings.
  • Assist in developing curriculum or play-based activities that encourage creativity, learning, and connection.

Administration & Communication

  • Maintain schedules and incident reports.
  • Manage budget for supplies, equipment, and event expenses.
  • Communicate with parents, staff, and leadership regarding updates and policies.

Qualifications:

  • A growing personal relationship with Jesus Christ and alignment with the mission and values of Crossroads Church.
  • Active membership and faithful attendance at Crossroads Church.
  • Experience in hospitality, childcare, recreation, or facility management is preferred.
  • Strong leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with children, parents, and staff.
  • First Aid/CPR certification (or willingness to obtain).
  • Passion for creating safe, engaging, and family-friendly spaces.
