Lakeside Church Preschool Minister Job DescriptionPosition Title: Preschool Minister (Birth to Pre-K)

Purpose StatementThe Preschool Minister leads the spiritual and developmental growth of children from birth to Pre-K, creating a nurturing, Christ-centered environment while investing in parents to support family discipleship in order to serve as a bridge to guide children from where they are to where God wants them to be as they grow from seeds to sprouts.

Key ResponsibilitiesCore Responsibilities:Model Christ-centered leadership and personal spiritual growth.Support the implementation of Lakeside's mission and vision through collaboration.Participate in regular team meetings and planning sessions.Develop and empower volunteers using the mentorship-apprenticeship-leadership model.Promote a Spirit-led and data-informed approach to ministry.Serve as a friendly first impression to new guests, warmly welcoming families and creating an inviting atmosphere.

Role-Specific Responsibilities:Oversee the planning, coordination, and execution of Preschool ministry programs, including Sunday services, midweek activities, VBS, and special events.Select and implement age-appropriate, biblically based curriculum for children from birth to Pre-K.Recruit, train, and support Preschool volunteers to ensure a safe, engaging, and spiritually enriching environment.Organize and oversee Quarterly workshop/training for Sunday teachers/volunteers.Co-direct VBS along with the Elementary Pastor Build relationships with parents and guardians, providing resources, encouragement, and support for spiritual growth at home.Maintain consistent communication with parents and volunteers about upcoming services and events using social media, email, text and any other communication methods found useful. Ensure compliance with safety protocols and child protection policies in all Preschool activities.Collaborate with the Elementary Pastor to align Preschool programs with broader Children's Ministry goals.Manage the Preschool ministry budget, resources, and supplies effectively.

Skills and CompetenciesTechnical: Experience with early childhood education or ministry programming; proficiency in curriculum development; basic administrative and organizational skills.Relational: Strong interpersonal skills to connect with children, parents, and volunteers; ability to lead and motivate teams; approachable demeanor to welcome new guests.Spiritual: Deep commitment to Christian faith; ability to teach biblical principles to young children in an engaging way.Personal: High energy and demonstrated work ethic, consistently bringing enthusiasm and dedication to ministry tasks and team collaboration.

Success MeasuresOver the next 12–18 months, success will be measured by:

Increased engagement of Preschool children and families in Sunday and midweek programs.Recruitment and retention of at least 10 trained Preschool volunteers.Positive feedback from parents on spiritual and developmental impact.Implementation of and compliance with safety and child protection protocols in all Preschool activities.Effective management of the Preschool ministry budget with no overspending.
