Job Overview

The Preteen Minister is a committed Christian who will ensure that all preteen ministry activity supports the overall mission of Heatherwood Baptist Church, which is to make disciples of Jesus Christ. The Preteen Minister is responsible for designing, coordinating, and overseeing a comprehensive preteen ministry program focused on building young disciples for Christ, working alongside the youth minister and children's minister. Areas of focus include group-building, worship, discipleship, missions, and outreach. The Preteen Minister will also serve as an engaging spiritual leader and role model with a strong biblical background.

Job Description

Duties & Responsibilities ● Collaborate with church leaders in planning, developing and implementing all aspects of a balanced and engaging preteen ministry. ● Collaborate with the Student Pastor to recruit and train volunteers to work in all aspects of the preteen ministry. ● Recruit and train volunteers to work in all aspects of the preteen ministry. ● Communicate with volunteers, parents, and congregation in a timely manner utilizing available resources including but not limited to: email, website, church center, etc.) ● Establish, maintain, and personally engage in a discipleship culture where students grow in their faith and understanding of the gospel. ● Ensure that all teaching and preaching in the preteen ministry is based on the faithful exposition of God's Word. ● Plan & facilitate Sunday morning and Wednesday night services for the preteen ministry. ● Collaborate with the Student Pastor to come alongside parents and guardians to equip them as the primary disciple-makers of their children. ● Collaborate with the family ministry team to plan and direct preteen events. ● Other duties as assigned.

Evaluation and Compensation ● The Senior Pastor and Personnel Team member or designee will conduct a bi-annual review of the Preteen Minister by means of self-evaluation.

Accountability ● The Preteen Minister will work with and will receive support and prayer from the Senior Pastor (or Designee) ● Furthermore, the Senior Pastor (or Designee) will strive to assist you in reaching your full potential as you grow in faith and contribute to HBC's goals. ● The church's ministerial and support staff, along with the Personnel & Finance Team pledge their support and will work cooperatively with you. ● The Preteen Minister will be directly appointed a specific Personnel Team member for any issues regarding his/her own employment.
