Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site role for a Program Coordinator located in the Salem, Oregon area. The Program Coordinator will facilitate the Safe Families program in Marion and Polk Counties, ensuring efficient project oversight and alignment with organizational goals. Responsibilities include coordinating with volunteers, supporting families in crisis, and building relationships with churches and community partners. Strong administrative skills, clear communication, responsive customer service, and organized program execution are essential for this role.

Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Provide clinical/safety oversight of Safe Families program implementation in partnership with the Program Director.
  • Provide supervision and training for SFFC volunteer host families, family coaches, and other volunteers serving in each of the partner churches.
  • Participate in program development efforts (church and community partnership development).
  • Provide emergency, on-call support to staff and volunteers in the SFFC program.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university.
  • 1-3 years' experience working with at-risk children and families.
  • The ability to schedule one's time and to work independently.
  • Must reside in Marion or Polk County.
  • Must be able to be flexible with the time allotted to serving families in crisis. This could include working on weekends and/or evenings.
  • Background check required
  • Must provide their own transportation.
  • Valid Oregon driver's license.
  • Must be willing and able to support the mission of Kindred Partners and Safe Families for Children.
  • Able to lift up to 35 pounds.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience collaborating with local faith communities
  • Previous supervisory experience, including recruiting, training, and mobilizing large groups of volunteers
  • Personal philosophy of support of at-risk families in line with the values and philosophies of Safe Families for Children and Kindred Partners.
  • Public speaking experience in a variety of settings, including child welfare, faith communities, and collaborative networks.
  • Bilingual – Spanish/English
