Resident Life Coordinators (RLCs) are hired to engage the residents of an apartment complex (where they live) with the goal of spreading the Gospel–through hosting fun events, building friendships, and caring for their community. Great candidates love God, want others to know Him through a relationship with Jesus, gravitate toward people, enjoy serving, “lean into” deeper conversations, work independently, value good communication, can wear an events-planner/party hat, and have a desire to grow in their own relationship with the Lord.

RLCs serve in teams of two in cities around the country (KS, OK, MN, CO, CA) for a 2-year “ministry intensive” and receive compensation of $50,000+ ($25,000 salary, plus free housing & utilities in the apartment where they serve–$24,000+ at Jefferson Flats in LA), training in various areas of ministry to equip them for sharing their faith with residents, assistance with event-planning, and both an events and personal ministry budget to use each month.

It’s an amazing “job” that gives you ministry training and hands-on experience as “urban missionaries” in a student-focused residential setting–a 2-year state-side ministry experience without the fund-raising that often accompanies other short-or-long-term missions. Job Description

Resident Life Coordinators (RLCs)…

• Live on-site in apartment communities
• Host irresistible events to regularly engage residents
• Open their homes for regular Bible study, shared meals, game nights, etc.
• Care for their communities through acts of service
• Initiate one-to-one relationships and seek intentional growth of friendships
• Live available and authentic lives among their neighbors
• Function in the context of a virtual team serving in multiple states (KS, OK, MN, CO, CA)
• Engage in challenging coursework around four “pillars” of being missional neighbors—designed to develop RLCs as disciples and disciple-makers (Missional, Biblical, Global, Authentic)

RLC Candidates must…

• have a heart for people to hear the gospel and a desire to love others well
• understand the power of relationships and the importance of serving in a cheerful, loving manner
• have a spirit of encouragement
• be humble with a service-oriented attitude towards others
• be outgoing and energetic—love meeting new people and not afraid of strangers
• be a good listener
• love hosting people and gathering people organically
• be organized and creative
• love planning and attending social events
• have an ability to mobilize friends and volunteers
• establish relationships with local churches and nonprofits for the good of their residents
• be a wise steward of money
• have a teachable spirit
• be able to take direction and critiques from a supervisor
• have a robust prayer life and reliance on prayer in ministry
• have a college degree or comparable life experience
•  be eligible to work in the U.S.
• adhere to Resident Life’s values and beliefs
• have a valid driver’s license and proof of auto insurance
• be able to perform the duties of the job
• pass a criminal and sex offender background check

Compensation: Total $50,000+ package: $25,000 Salary, PLUS Free Housing & Utilities (valued at $24,000+ in LA at Jefferson Flats Apartments), Monthly Ministry & Event Budgets, Waived Course Fees, Team Retreat/Conference with Travel
