Position Title: Senior Adult PastorReports To: Executive PastorDate Prepared / Revised: February 26, 2025Approved: (TBA)

Principle Function

The function of the Senior Adult Pastor is to provide a balanced program of ministry toall Senior Adults through biblical teaching, dynamic programming of events, meaningfulministry and mission opportunities, and faithful shepherding in accordance with theoverall mission and vision of FBC Pelham.

Specific List of Responsibilities

Biblical Teaching The Senior Adult Pastor will lead bible study with senior adults and preach onoccasion as asked by the pastor.Programming Enlist, train and advise senior adult leaders for all areas of ministry. Be available to assist in all areas of Pastoral ministry as needed. Cooperate with and support the church program of visitation by personalparticipation and enlistment of senior adults and senior adult leaders. Provide for the training of leaders and senior adults in personal evangelism. Apriority of the Senior Adult Pastor is to see that all senior adults have beenpresented with the plan of salvation. Planning and implementation of monthly senior adult luncheons / seasonalevening events. See that all programs of the church are communicated to senior adults withemphasis on programs and opportunities designed just for senior adults. Strengthen and expand the Homebound Ministry, making personal visits on asystematic basis to homebound.

Ministry and Missions Plan and facilitate annual mission trip for senior adults and assist with othermission trip activities and plan recreational / fellowship outings for seniors.Shepherding Make weekly hospital visits and keep the staff and congregation informed ofthose in the hospital or longterm care.Other Duties

 Other general responsibilities:a. Cooperate with the Senior Pastor and other staff members in promoting theentire ministry plan and vision of FBC Pelham.b. Be available for counseling of church and nonchurch members as needsarise.c. Supply articles on a periodical basis for use in the FBC Pelham publicationsrelating to Senior Adult Ministry.d. Develop senior adult budget and give full support to the operating budget ofFBC Pelham and avoid soliciting funds not previously authorized.e. Adhere to church approved guidelines as set forth in FBC Pelham'sConstitution and Bylaws as well as its personnel policy manual. Basic personal responsibilities:a. Maintain a vital and growing personal walk with the Lord through committedBible study and prayer.b. Maintain proper priorities in your home and be a spiritual leader to yourspouse and children, if married.c. Develop personal evangelism opportunities within the church and outside thechurch.d. Financially support the work of the ministries of FBC Pelham by faithfullygiving at least 10% of your gross income. Maintain wise stewardshipmeasures over the remaining 90%. Perform other duties as assigned by the Executive Pastor and Senior Pastor.

Beliefs and Training Acknowledge Jesus Christ as personal Lord and Savior. Believe in the inerrant word of God.

 Fully support the Baptist Faith and Message. Realize that performance, dedication and attitude are under the observation ofboth mature and weak Christians, as well as unbelievers. Ensure that all actionsreflect honorably on Christ and the church. Must be called by the Holy Spirit to serve in this office and have training or havedocumented experience to serve in the capacity to which called. Must be skilled in personal evangelism. Must have ability to deal effectively and tactfully with church personnel, membersand the general public.

Requirements

 Seminary Degree At least 2 years of successful, full-time ministry experience
