Central Baptist Church of Johnson City, TN is seeking a Senior Pastor, following the retirementon October 1, 2025 of Dr. Tommy Hood. Desirable candidates will have an advanced degreefrom a Baptist seminary (doctorate preferred), a minimum of 10 years of relevant full-timeministry experience, preferably having led a team in a multi-staff setting, and possess thespiritual maturity, biblical integrity, and heart for shepherding God's people.

The Senior Pastor should foster a vision compatible with Central's current strategic plan, itslongstanding emphasis on local and global missions, and its priority to reach young families andstudents. Central Baptist – JC is a multigenerational downtown congregation of approximately400 people, composed of a wide range of demographics (age, socio-economic status,music/worship style, etc.). We partner with the Tennessee Baptist Convention, the SouthernBaptist Convention, and the Cooperative Baptist Fellowship, and we adhere to the 1963 BaptistFaith and Message, supports the equal roles of men and women in all areas of service, includingthat of deacon.
