Bannockburn Baptist Church is diligently praying for and seeking their next Senior Pastor: a man of humble character who is prayerful, wise, honest, trustworthy, faithful and steadfast as outlined in 1 Timothy 3 and Titus 1. The Senior Pastor will be the spiritual leader of Bannockburn and will shepherd the people of Bannockburn to function as a New Testament Church in carrying out the Great Commission of Jesus Christ according to Matthew 28:18- 20 and Acts 1:8.

Job Description

We desire a pastor who is committed to the inerrancy and authority of the Bible, unashamed of the gospel as the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes, and devoted to preaching the whole counsel of God's Word. He will be a skilled expositor of the Bible, proclaiming Christ and admonishing and teaching everyone with wisdom. As a shepherd who loves and cares for his flock, he will prioritize the discipleship of our members, new and existing, young and old, aiming to guide God's people to spiritual maturity and to equip them for every good work. He will lead the congregation to fulfill the Great Commission by going locally, nationally, and into all the world on mission.

Bannockburn was founded on prayer, and we seek a Senior Pastor who is deeply committed to prayer, both personal and congregational. He believes in the power of prayer and its effectiveness, that God is able to do far more abundantly than all that we ask or imagine. He kneels daily before the Lord in prayer; he leads us by first being led by the Lord through prayer, and he leads God's people to develop an ever-increasing hunger & thirst for the Lord and His presence.

The Senior Pastor will be a man who himself is actively being transformed by God's Word, continuing to grow in the Lord. He sees himself as a sinner who has received the grace, mercy, and forgiveness of Christ, and is passionate for others to joyfully receive that same mercy. He will have an overflowing love for the people of God. He will be easily approachable & skilled in relationship building. He will connect us across generations and campuses to grow and abound in love for one another as we grow in our love for God.

As a multi-site church with three campuses and local campus pastors who share preaching duties, Bannockburn seeks a Senior Pastor who, along with being a gifted preacher himself, has the heart and ability to shepherd and mentor his pastoral staff team. He is a cooperative leader who demonstrates active listening, servant leadership, and spiritual discernment. He will collaborate with and listen to his pastoral staff, while also stewarding well the authority of the office of Senior Pastor.

Qualifications

Affirmation of the Baptist Faith and Message(2000)

Ideally, we are seeking someone with:

• Minimum of 5 years experience as a senior pastor or a combined 10 years of ministry experience
• Minimum of Master Level Seminary Degree

Job Details

The Senior Pastor will adhere to all responsibilities outlined within the Church Bylaws. He may be assigned such other duties as required by the needs of the Church or determined by the Personnel Ministry Team.

Salary Range

$125K to $150K (commensurate with experience) plus a benefits package.

About Bannockburn Baptist Church

Bannockburn was founded in 1973 when 137 faithful followers of Christ, led by James W. Abington obediently answered God's call to establish a church to reach the people of south Austin and the surrounding areas. Bannockburn moved to its current location in 1974.

Pastor Abington and his wife, Doris Elaine, served Bannockburn diligently for 30 years. Following the passing of Brother Jim in May 2003, Bannockburn called its second senior pastor, Ryan Rush, in April 2004. During his ten years of service, Bannockburn expanded to a second campus in Dripping Springs. In 2015, Bannockburn called its third senior pastor, Ky Faciane and added a third campus in Kyle-Buda.

Since 1973, Bannockburn has existed to share the truth of the gospel, demonstrating God's love and communicating His written Word. Bannockburn remains passionate to see others grow in their relationship with Jesus, each other, and their community. We currently average around 950 in attendance across the three campuses in south Austin, Dripping Springs and Kyle/Buda areas.
