Job Overview

This is an incredible opportunity for a pastor/shepherd to become part of the Faith Baptist Church family to lead them, challenge them with God’s Word, and walk through life alongside each member. The Senior Pastor is the spiritual leader of the church. He is responsible to the Lord and the church to primarily proclaim the gospel and teach the Bible. He is to be engaged in pastoral care, and provide supervisory and administrative leadership in all areas of congregational care including paid and volunteer staff.

Job Description

The ideal candidate will be:

A seasoned pastor with a minimum of five years of preaching and church leadership experience. A successful candidate must have completed a masters degree from an accredited seminary.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Plan and conduct worship services: prepare and deliver sermons as scheduled or provide a replacement during vacation after discussion with the Chairman of the Deacon Board.
• Lead the church in an effective evangelism program and in a caring ministry for those in the church and the community.
• Lead an effective program of visiting sick and shut-in members and prospects.
• Conduct counseling sessions.
• Oversee and perform baptisms, funerals, weddings, etc.
• Lead the church in planning, organizing, directing, coordinating, and evaluating all church programs and ministries in conjunction with the Deacon Board.
• Act as moderator of the church business meeting and work with deacons, board of trustees, church officers, and committees as they perform their assigned responsibilities.
• Serve as administrator of the paid church staff; supervise the work of the ministry staff, both volunteer and paid ministers and directors.
