The Senior Pastor reports directly to the Church. He is responsible for establishing the vision and general direction of the Church. He oversees the teaching of the Word of God and is charged to preserve the Articles of Faith of the Church. He oversees the general ministry of the Church, protects the overall welfare of the Church, and is responsible for leading the Church. The Senior Pastor oversees the work of the Professional Staff. He is to work in coordination with and seek the counsel of the Deacons and Personnel Committees in a manner consistent with the purpose of the Church. The Senior Pastor shall serve as President of the Corporation.
Qualifications
Senior Pastor qualifications are taken from Scripture, including but not limited to: I Timothy 3:8 13 and Acts 6:2
1. Must be at least twenty-one (21) years of age
2. Must be sound in doctrine, a calling for full-time ministry, and ordained by a Southern Baptist Church or church of like faith
3. If married, must be husband of one wife. This excludes one who has been divorced and one who marries a divorced woman
4. Must have high moral standards
Education and Experience
Requires seminary training with a Master of Divinity or related degree preferred, AND
Requires at least 2 years related experience with five or more years related experience preferred.
