We are writing this letter in search of a candidate for the position of full time Pastor of First Baptist Church of White Springs, Florida. We are a small country church, seeking to grow and have a greater impact on our community. We currently have around 35 who regularly attend services; but in the past have enjoyed a regular attendance quite higher than that. In addition to our Sunday service, we also have Sunday School and Wednesday evening service.

The challenges of a post-covid congregation have been evident for us. Some of our membership have never returned. And as you know the continued decline in church attendance can not be ignored. White Springs has a population of around 800 people and is located in the poorest county in the state of Florida. We know the key to the survival of FBC White Springs is to reach the lost in our small community. Our future Pastor will need to be comfortable living and working in a rural community. He will need to be adept at making connections with people from all walks of life and economic classes.

We are seeking a candidate whose focus is on teaching the bible-based Word of God. We will admit that we have previously sought out candidates who possessed a list of qualities, but have come to find that focusing on the teachings of our Lord and discipleship of our community is paramount. If we focus on this, all other things will fall into place. We want to be attractive to the lost because of who Christ is and how he is working within us.
