Florida Baptist Church Senior Pastor position. Florida Baptist Church in Durango, Colorado is seeking a full-time pastor with a minimum of 5 years pastoral experience. He will be asked to provide spiritual, theological, and doctrinal leadership to the church body as well as ministerial and pastoral care to the congregation. He needs to lead with strong godly character and exhibit cooperation and collaboration with the Elder board. Qualifications: The candidate will:

• Give a personal testimony of God's calling him to pastoral ministry and preaching.
• Meet the qualifications set forth in 1 Timothy 3:1-16.
• Have been ordained and subscribe to the Baptist Faith and Message 2000 statement.
• Complete the Elder candidate theological questionnaire that was completed by the now current lay Elders of Florida Baptist Church.
• Satisfactorily demonstrate that he is a Spirit-led, Bible believing man of God.
• Be willing to relocate to the Pleasant Hill community.
• Have a 4-year college or university degree in something appropriate to a pastoral position and preferrable have received Seminary training for pastoral ministry and preaching.
• Be willing to relocate to the Durango, Colorado area

The Pastor is responsible for leading the church, the organizations, and the church staff to perform their tasks. As such, he:

• Proclaims or preaches the gospel to believers and non-believers
• Leads the church to engage in a fellowship of worship, witness, missions, education ministry, and application
• Leads the church in performing its ministries and supervises the ministries of the church staff and employees
• Cares for the church's membership and other persons in the community
• Serves as preaching Elder, as one of a plurality of 4 Elders
• Serves as an ex-officio member of all committees and will vote only in case of a tie

Florida Baptist Church (pronounced Floreeda) was started as a new church appr. 1990 and is affiliated and credentialed with the Colorado Baptist General Convention and the Southern Baptist Convention. It was served by bi-vocational pastors until 1/1/2022 at which time the position was made full time. The position has been vacant since 3/1/2024 Currently there are 41 members with an average attendance of 70-100 on any given Sunday The lay Elders, Deacon, and other mature men are currently leading and preaching during our pastoral search.
