The Pastor for Gibbs Memorial Baptist Church shall have in his charge the welfare and oversight of the church. The primary duty of the pastor is to preach the Word and to be prepared for the delivery of sermons and is responsible for Sunday worship services and the mid-week services. The Pastor shall meet qualifications as described in 1 Timothy 3:1-7.

As Pastor of the church, he shall give himself to the visitation of the sick, shut-ins, bereaved, needy, and those who have family or personal trials. He should be available to those who need him for personal counseling and should be ready to render Christian services such as weddings, funerals, and baptisms. He is encouraged to attend conventions and conferences and to participate in the Morgan County Baptist Association.

The Pastor shall cooperate with the Deacons and church committees in the formation of new programs and procedures and in the advancement of the spiritual interests of the church. The Pastor should never seek to dictate church policy and should never be overbearing in manner or approach.

Our church is located in Bostwick, Georgia. We are a smaller, more traditional church and are associated with the Southern Baptist Convention. We offer Sunday School classes at 10:00 AM on Sundays, and we have one worship service at 11:00 AM on Sundays. We have a blended music service with contemporary music and traditional hymns. We offer other small group activities such as Bible study, Mission Friends, GA's, RA's, and Acteens for our members to receive discipleship and fellowship throughout the week. We are in a transitional stage and are searching for the right pastor to help lead us to more unity and growth within our church. There are ample opportunities to grow as we are in a great location to reach individuals in the surrounding counties of Walton, Morgan, and Oconee.
