Job Description:

Our mission is to operate as a community of believers called to glorify God through the teaching of the Bible, corporate worship, fellowship, and encouraging one another to seek and serve God through Jesus Christ.

Our current pastor will be transitioning out of Nepal in mid-2026. Therefore, we are seeking our next Senior Pastor to serve our growing community. The ideal candidate will have experience of living and working cross-culturally. They will also be able to navigate the unique dynamics of a socio-economically and theologically diverse congregation.

Key duties and responsibilities:

• Regular teaching of the congregation and involvement in church services
• Active participation as an ex-officio member of the KICC Board
• Encouraging and empowering key ministry leaders within the church
• Overseeing and executing the administration of the church through appropriate staff and volunteer-leadership teams
• Strategic leadership and planning to guide KICC in accomplishing its mission and vision
• Overseeing the pastoral care needs of the congregation, including encouraging others through hospital visits, home visits, counselling, and conducting marriages and funerals

Visa considerations:

Visas can sometimes be difficult to obtain in Nepal. However, we are grateful that KICC is able to provide a visa for both the pastor and any immediate family members. Details of this visa can be discussed with the appropriate candidate during the interview process.

Position Qualifications:

Essential skills, qualifications, and experience:

• Meets the qualifications of elders as listed in 1 Timothy 3:1-7
• Ordained minister, preferably with formal theological training
• Skills in preaching expository sermons
• Counselling experience and/or expertise (qualifications helpful but not necessary)
• Leadership experience within a church setting of at least 2 years
• Strong organizational skills and good attention to detail
• Flexibility and excitement about serving on a collaborative team
• Above all, the candidate must be a devoted follower of Jesus Christ and a person of high integrity, demonstrating humility and Christlikeness in their interactions with others.
