Senior Pastor Role Overview – Trinity Baptist Church

The Senior Pastor will provide visionary, Christ-centered leadership to advance the Mission, Vision, and Core Values of Trinity Baptist Church. As a permanent member of the Elder Board, the Senior Pastor will lead in close collaboration with the church's leadership teams, including staff, elders, and ministry leaders.

This role is central to guiding the spiritual direction of the church, equipping the body for discipleship, and fostering a culture of Gospel transformation. The Senior Pastor will lead with humility and conviction to see lives changed by the power of Jesus and to expand Trinity's impact in Mount Pleasant and beyond.

The Senior Pastor responsibilities include:● Pastoral leader of the church who preaches, trains and encourages the church.

● Committed to lay elder board governance

● Permanent member of the lay elder board.

● Provides vital input on strategic vision, ministry challenges and biblical guidance to the elders and executive staff during the decision making process.

● With the Elders, prayerfully set the strategic direction for the staff and congregation to own and accomplish the Mission and Vision.

● Leads the church to spiritual growth through insightful and accurate presentation and proclamation of God's Word, stressing both the understanding and application of divine truths and principles

● Leads in local, national, and international partnerships that align with and advance the Mission and Vision

● Responsible for the leadership of the church, church staff and teaching. Oversees and delegates to accomplish his responsibilities the mission.

● Oversees teaching ministry and serves as a member of the teaching team

● Equips the church for the work of the ministry by modeling discipleship.

● A Theologian with an emphasis on grace

● Lives out a lifestyle of evangelism and discipleship.

Education and experience● A Bachelor's Degree is required

● A Masters Degree in Bible, Theology or Divinity (completed or in process) is preferred.

● 5+ years high level church leadership preferred.

● Proven experience teaching and effectively communicating biblical truths for life transformation

● Experience working with a multi-generational, family-oriented congregation
