Senior Pastor – Westview Baptist ChurchOpp, AlabamaWestview Baptist Church, located in Opp, Alabama (population 6,775) in Covington County is seeking a full-time senior pastor. The senior pastor is responsible to the church for providing staff leadership in administering the total church program in support of the mission and objectives of the church. The senior pastor will provide oversite to a church staff of six (four full-time, two part-time) with a worship attendance of 300+ and a church budget in excess of $1,000,000.General Responsibilities● Promote and maintain an image as a role model of Christlikeness and professionalism.● Preach and teach regularly to promote spiritual growth of church members, including Sunday morning/evening worship, Wednesday worship, weddings, funerals, baptisms, etc. to ensure church members learn of Christian doctrine, and ethical living.● Promote and encourage spiritual growth and maturity among church members through personal mentoring, discipleship programs, and small group leadership.● Provide leadership and participation in the development of local and international missions, evangelistic outreach, and community service.● Provide pastoral care and shepherd church members to meet the needs of the congregation (counseling, illness, grief, homebound or personal crises).● Represent the church in the broader community and participate in community events, services, and outreach.● Oversee the operational aspects of the church, including finances and organizational strategy.● Lead, shepherd and develop the pastoral team and nurture relationships with other support staff.● Promote the principles, methods, and procedures of the Baptist Faith and Message as set forth by the Alabama Baptist Convention and the Southern Baptist Convention as it relates to the total church programQualifications:● Must be licensed and ordained.● Attributes: Personal relationship with Jesus, integrity, passion, vision, humility, fiscal responsibility, purpose driven, good communication skills, encourager, mentoring skills, peaceful, patient, a teacher, gentle, not quick tempered, demonstrated perseverance.Interested candidates may submit a resume to Pastor Search Committee, Westview Baptist Church, PO Box 27, Opp, AL 36467 or electronically to [email protected].
