West Village Church is seeking a Shepherd Leader who is a strong Christ-follower with a shepherd's heart and a passion for making Jesus known. The successful candidate will be a humble team leader who can unify and inspire the church community. They will possess strong relational gifts, be an effective communicator, and have a proven track record of leading and nurturing teams. The shepherd will be responsible for providing spiritual guidance, overseeing ministries, and fostering a welcoming and inclusive environment for all. This leader should be competent to lead but also comfortable coaching and cheerleading others in leadership.

Job Description
Key Responsibilities:
- Spiritual Leadership: Provide spiritual guidance and direction to the church community, ensuring alignment with West Village's mission, vision, and statement of faith.
- Preaching and Teaching: Deliver engaging and relevant gospel centered sermons that inspire and challenge the congregation, while also overseeing the church's teaching ministries.
- Team Leadership: Oversee and develop a unified and high-performing staff team, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and mutual support. Work with existing staff elder, Andrew Haws, to delegate appropriate areas of responsibility for staff development and coaching.
- Pastoral Care: Provide compassionate pastoral care to the congregation, offering support, guidance, and encouragement in times of need.
- Vision Casting: In collaboration with the elder team, articulate and implement vision for the future of West Village Church, inspiring the congregation to actively participate in fulfilling the church's mission and immediate vision steps.
- Community Engagement: Foster a welcoming and inclusive environment for all, encouraging active participation in church life and participation in missional living.
Qualifications:

- Theological Alignment: Possess a strong theological foundation aligned with West Village's statement of faith, with a soft complementarian perspective.
- Leadership Experience: 5-10 years of senior ministry experience, demonstrating a proven ability to lead and coach teams effectively.
- Education: Post-secondary theological education (reformed) preferred, with a commitment to lifelong learning and ongoing professional development.
- Relational Skills: Strong interpersonal and relational skills, with the ability to connect with people from diverse backgrounds and build meaningful relationships.
- Communication Skills: Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to articulate complex ideas clearly and concisely.
- Character: Exemplify the qualities outlined in 1 Timothy 3:1-7, demonstrating integrity, humility, and a genuine love for God and people.
- Demonstrable Missional Impulse: Is a practitioner of mission, with a clear history of missional living and disciple making fruit. Is competent to lead by example, capable of training others in missional living and leading a missional community.

- Experience in missional theology and practice.
- Familiarity with Soma philosophy of ministry.
- A passion for Sunday excellence and creating a welcoming worship experience.
- Cultural sensitivity and awareness.
- A self-starter with good self-awareness and healthy rhythms.
