The Student ministry exists to see students encounter Jesus in an authentic way. Helping them and their parents to grow in wisdom and knowledge of Jesus. Equipping them to do the work of the church in their daily life, for the glory of God alone. The Branch is a fun and interactive ministry setting where students can be themselves, build relationships with other believers, and learn about the goodness of God.

The young adult ministry will serve college aged men and women up to 25 years of age who are seeking a group of Christian believers to do life alongside. This group will engage in Bible studies, small groups, weekly/monthly fellowship, but also be encouraged to serve in the church as young leaders.

Role: The goal of the Student and Young Adult Pastor position at First Baptist Church London is to show the love of God to students through the preaching and teaching of God's Word, authentic worship, intentional discipleship, and creative fellowship. This position will also lead and oversee the young adult ministry, providing young adults with a meaningful group to belong.

Responsibilities:

Provide direction and vision in the day-to-day running of the student and young adult ministry.Work in harmony with the other members of the First Baptist staff and volunteer teams.Help to lead and develop the Students Worship Team.Actively engage in weekly staff meetings.Commit to study and message preparation for students and be willing/able to preach on Sunday mornings when called on. Help to recruit and equip leaders for the student ministry.Engage in weekly meaningful small group times. Plan and execute special events throughout the year (Camp, Mission Trips, Fall Retreat, Ski Trip, etc.).Learn how to oversee and maintain a yearly budget.Help to run and maintain the student/young adult ministry social media pages.Other responsibilities as assigned by the Senior Pastor. Including, but not limited to, all major church activities. Develop sound communication skills with students, parents, volunteers, staff, and church members spanning a large generational gap. Be an active and willing participant in the life and ministry of First Baptist Church. Develop FBC London's Small Group ministry as the primary avenue for the spiritual growth for members. Work with Ministerial team to develop vision, goals, and benchmarks for the Small Group Ministry.Evaluate and recommend curriculum for Small Groups.Continually recruit, train, and empower Small Group leaders and equip them to disciple others. Develop a clear and effective strategy to help attendees easily and efficiently take the next step in their relationship with God and assimilate into our church community. Steps include but are not limited to attending a New Christian class, Baptism, and other available classes.Continually build the ministry with qualified leaders so that more responsibilities are shared by capable people and strong relationships of spiritual growth are fostered.Oversee and give direct staff support to the Guest Services Team so that the team leader is better equipped to meet the rising demands of the church.Meet regularly with core lead pastoral team to address strategy and pastoral care.Identify guests and perspective members and make sure they are engaged in FBC life.

Qualifications:

A committed Chirstian living in accordance with the Word of God whose moral character models the Christian life. Is in agreement with the constitution and bylaws of First Baptist London as well as accepts and embraces doctrine found in the BFM 2000. A student of God's Word with a commitment to learning in humility. Ability to be flexible, adaptable, resourceful, teachable, and sensitive to God's Spirit in leadership. A servant of Jesus and others. Highly self-motivated and organized. 4-year Bachelor's Degree.Seminary training preferred but not required.
