Function

The Pastor of Students and Outreach is responsible for all areas of Student Ministry at Highland Terrace Baptist Church. In the area of Outreach, he is responsible for coordinating opportunities to minister to Schools and Neighborhoods in our community and surrounding areas.

Student Ministry Responsibilities

– Leading times of worship and teaching for students and encouraging their participation in church-wide services, weekly

– Planning, Organizing and Leading regular events that promote excitement and acceptance within the lives of the students

– Planning, Organizing and Leading summer activities that include concentrated focus on missions, evangelism and discipleship

– Developing and Implementing a strategic discipleship program that will equip students and parents to be contributing members of HTBC

– Recruiting, Training and Mentoring adult leaders in working with students and their families

– Developing and Presenting a budget for Student Ministry

– Working with the Pastor of Worship Arts & Administration to develop outlets for students to share their gifts with the Church

– Directing the work of the Ministry Assistant for Student Ministry

Outreach Responsibilities

– Working together with the Senior Pastor, the Children's Minister, and the Pastor of Worship Arts & Administration to establish a coordinated strategy for the educational development of the church

– Working with the Senior Pastor to formulate an action plan for community-wide Outreach

– Working with the Senior Pastor and the Children's Minister to showcase a presence in schools within a 30-mile radius of the church

Pastoral Responsibilities

– Preaching as assigned by the Senior Pastor

– Assisting in the pastoral ministry of visitation as needed
