The Student Minister at Shearer Hills Baptist Church is responsible for the development and implementation of the Student Ministry (grades 6-12) in order to effectively help students and families learn about and experience the love of God, grow in personal faith and actively participate in sharing the Gospel.

The student minister:

• provides vision, leadership, planning and implementation of all facets of Student Ministry (weekly and annual events) for the purpose of reaching lost students, growing students in spiritual maturity and discipleship, and engaging students to serve within the church family, our community and the world. • recognizes and encourages growth of individual student skill sets. • creates a welcoming, safe, and comforting environment for students to thrive. • Teaches Biblical truths to students in applicable ways. • interacts with other SHBC ministries by involving students with other ministries. • recruits, trains, leads and manages Student Ministry volunteers. • oversees the selection and implementation of curriculum and programming. • manages Student Ministry budget and finances, policies, and facilities/equipment. • Utilizes effective communication to keep students, staff, volunteers and parents informed. • offers pastoral care and encouragement to students, parents, and volunteers.
