Student Ministries Director
Job Overview
The role of the Director of Student Ministry is to lead and direct a strategy that ensures Middle School and High School students are fully engaged in the Church and equips them to grow in their own relationship with Jesus Christ. The Director of Student Ministry also leads and manages all Student Ministry staff.
We are seeking a dynamic person who loves Jesus, His Word, and students. This person must have a zeal to evangelize and disciple young people along with an entrepreneurial spirit to grow and sustain the youth ministry. This position will oversee weekly IMPACT youth group meetings, host outreach events for HS and MS students, and serve as a mentor and ministry liaison inside the church’s outreach school (Bethany Christian School).
Education & Experience
• Bachelors Degree
• At least two years of experience in student ministry settings
Qualifications
• Must be in a growing relationship with Jesus Christ
• Must affirm the RVC Statement of Faith and the Westminster Confession of Faith • Ability to teach God’s Word in an accurate, compelling, and age-specific manner • Ability to engage, converse, and answer the questions of non-believing students
• Possess strong leadership skills to train, equip, and inspire students
• Exhibit an entrepreneurial spirit to creatively grow and sustain a thriving ministry • Show initiative to launch and complete tasks without prompting
• Ability and willingness to take direction and receive feedback
• Maintain strong relationships with other partners in the ministry
• Ability to handle sensitive and confidential situations and documentation
• High attention to detail in planning
Job Description
Specific Responsibilities
High School • Oversee creative planning and vision casting • Recruit, coordinate, and train High School ministry team • Plan sermon series and preach weekly • Build relationships with students and their families • Create a culture of discipleship • Engage with students outside ministry settings (schools, sports, events, etc.)
Middle School • Oversee creative planning and vision casting • Recruit, coordinate, and train Middle School ministry team • Plan sermon series and preach weekly • Build relationships with students and their families • Create a culture of discipleship • Partner with Bethany Christian School in reaching the students and their families
Outreach • Assist and participate in church-wide outreach events with MS and HS students • Lead international mission trips for HS students
General Responsibilities • Active participation in the life of the church (Gather, Connect, Grow, and Serve) • Attend weekly staff meetings • Google Suite Proficiency • Manage the Rio Students social media accounts
