Christ Community Church (C3 Houston) – Director of Student Ministry

C3 Mission Statement: We exist to glorify God by making disciples through gospel-centered worship, teaching, community, and mission.

C3 Vision: To reach the lost, make disciples, and plant churches.

C3 Students Purpose: To reach and equip students with the gospel of Christ, and to launch them into their social, academic, and athletic contexts as disciple-makers.

We are looking for a godly, dynamic man to lead the next generation of disciple-makers in our church! Our student ministry is established – with great leaders and a solid culture. The person entering this role will...be a mature disciple of Jesus, be a seasoned disciple-maker, have ministry experience, have a passion for students and families, and have a clear philosophy of ministry to equip students to live out their faith.

Ways C3 Student Ministry will accomplish this purpose:

• Youth group (weekly worship service)
• C3S "Disciple-Makers" (D-Groups)
• Student events and retreats (middle school, high school, & combined events)

Qualifications

• A disciple of Jesus who, by God's grace, is growing in godliness – characterized by joy and thanksgiving, and motivated by the gospel of Christ (Col. 1:9-14)
• A godly man demonstrating character qualifications of an overseer as found in 1 Timothy 3:1-7. (The hope for this role is to lead to eventual eldership and/or church planting)
• A godly man who loves the local church and is committed to the theological and philosophical direction of Christ Community Church (found at c3houston.org/about/)
• A godly man who lives out the Great Commandment and Great Commission in his own life (Matt. 22:36-40; Matt. 28:18-20)
• A godly man who is driven, takes initiative – and is humble & servant-hearted
• A godly man who is gifted in the teaching and relational ministries of the Word
• A godly man who has a passion for students, leaders, and parents

Job Description

Primary Student Ministry Responsibilities

• Prepare and run youth group for 6-12th grade students on Sunday nights
• Preach at youth group and other events/retreats
• Prepare and run events and retreats throughout the year
• Support D-Groups, in which adult leaders disciple students outside of Sundays
• Pursue, befriend, and disciple students within the orbit of Christ Community Church
• Recruit, equip, and disciple adult volunteer leaders as they disciple students
• Partner with parents of C3 students as they disciple their kids
