Student Ministry Director/Coordinator
Job Overview
This position exists to further Coram Deo's ministry by molding students into lifelong disciples of Jesus. We believe God gives Christian parents primary responsibility to lead and disciple their children. We don't want to be a church with a "drop-off youth ministry" that allows parents to neglect their biblical duties. Rather, our aim is to come alongside parents and help them disciple their teenage children, while also providing a dense network of secondary influencers (godly adults and Christian peers) to help shape and form students in the love of God. We also want to engage non-Christian students evangelistically.
Students have deep questions about God, culture, and faith. And students are capable of deep thought and deep discipleship. So we are seeking a leader who has the vision and skill to coordinate and lead a theologically rich, biblically grounded, gospel-fluent youth ministry. We want students to build healthy, Christ-centered relationships around the Word of God. We want Christian students to have prayerful missional influence among their peers. We want nonChristian students to explore Christian faith in community and be compelled by the gospel. We want all Coram Deo students to gain a long-term vision for church planting and gospel renewal. We want to send them off to college or career or military service with the tools they need to be courageous, faithful disciples of Jesus.
The Director of Student Ministry is responsible for leading, overseeing, and developing Coram Deo's middle-school and high-school ministry (6th grade through 12th grade). The right person for this role will be someone who loves the word of God, enjoys working with youth, and feels called to lead, teach, and serve in the local church. The right leader be committed to the Apostles' and Nicene creeds and The Gospel Coalition foundation documents; have relevant work experience in working with youth; and be growing toward qualification as an elder in Christ's church (1 Timothy 3:1-8).
