POSITION SUMMARY The Student Ministry Director is a full-time ministry position that focuses on discipling the middle and high school students of Valley Presbyterian Church to embody our church's vision of "Following Christ together for the renewal of our community and the hope of the world." Through spiritual leadership and pastoral care, the Student Ministry Director will create a comprehensive discipleship ministry that is welcoming, fun, and safe so that students, no matter where they are spiritually, can find a place and are led to take the next step of faith.

QUALIFICATIONS

• A Bachelor's degree and theological training are preferred
• An understanding of and commitment to the Reformed faith
• 4+ years of experience in leading a Student Ministry
• Strong organizational skills
• Proven skill in team development, training, and management
• Capable communication skills, both verbal and written

ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Develop, manage, and teach a Sunday Morning Ministry for the students.
• Conduct weekly Youth Groups that include food, games, worship, and a gospel-centered and grace-focused bible message for middle school and high school students
• Organize and lead regular activities for the students that include fun trips, service projects, weekends, camps, and mission trips
• Develop a gospel presence in the community, especially in public schools
• Build personal relationships with the students
• Develop a student leadership team that participates in planning and leading the ministry
• Recruit, train, and manage a team of parents and adults to serve in all the Student Ministry areas
• Integrate students into the larger church community
• Support parents in teaching and mentoring their children in a life of following Christ
• Participate in presbytery-wide Student Ministry meetings and events
• Develop and manage the Student Ministry budget
• Attend weekly staff meetings
• Meet bi-weekly for coaching with the Executive Pastor
• Carry out other duties as requested by the Senior or Executive Pastor
