Student Ministry Director

Job Overview

Zionsville Fellowship is seeking a Student Ministry Director to join the staff to support the purpose of Zionsville Fellowship. The Student Ministry Director supports the purpose of Zionsville Fellowship by providing leadership to the High School Ministry and oversight to Middle School and Young Adult ministries. He will serve as a leader of leaders who is able to articulate and implement a theologically-informed philosophy of youth ministry.

Job Description

Responsibilities

Primary Responsibility: Lead the High School Ministry

• Plan and lead the weekly youth group gathering, serving as the primary teacher. • Organize and oversee the high school small group ministry, which is made up of groups that meet at various times and places. • Instill a culture of discipleship and hospitality for students, both through the leaders and through the director's own engagement with students. • Recruit, screen, and oversee high school ministry volunteers, including both youth group leaders and small group leaders. • Develop high school ministry volunteers as disciples and leaders through team meetings, one-on-one discipleship, and providing resources as needed. • Plan and lead the high school retreats. • Serve as a resource to parents of high school students. • Oversee the communications strategy for the high school ministry.

Additional Responsibilities

• Middle School: Oversee and support the Middle School Ministry Director through regular meetings and staff reviews. Periodically attend the middle school gatherings to observe and support the ministry. • Young Adults: Organize and provide support as needed for regular gatherings for young adults. Lead or organize summer Bible study for college students and other young adults. Maintain a meaningful connection between Zionsville Fellowship and college students who are away at school. • General: Participate in the weekly staff meeting and any other relevant teams and meetings. Lead, teach, and disciple members in various ways according to gifts, need, and direction from the elders.

• Fulfill the qualifications of 1 Tim 3:8–13, seeking to display Christ-like character when interacting with members, staff, and guests, and contribute to a gospel-culture of humility and the fruit of the Spirit. • A warm, healthy, non-anxious, and humble presence on a team. • Affirm and support Zionsville Fellowship's beliefs, purpose, values, and biblical convictions on key moral issues as outlined in our bylaws. Happily affirm a broadly reformed and baptistic theological perspective. • Able to train leaders and cultivate people and teams. • MDiv or related master's degree, or a willingness pursue formal theological education. • Able to articulate and implement a theologically-informed philosophy of youth ministry. • Able to teach the Bible expositionally. • Maintain healthy friendships and, if applicable, marriage and family relationships.
