Position Summary:The Church Interns assist the Student Ministry and Children's Ministry by creating and implementing a welcoming, engaging, and spiritually enriching environment for children, students, and their families. These positions are designed to provide practical ministry experience, mentorship, and an opportunity to explore a vocational calling within a supportive church environment. The interns will focus on building relationships with students and families while also providing essential administrative and logistical support for various programs and events.
Reports To: Director of Family Ministries
Key Responsibilities:
Relational Ministry & Discipleship
Build and maintain positive relationships with students, children, parents, and volunteers.Assist in leading small groups and teaching Bible studies/classes for student or children's programs.Actively participate in scheduled programming on Sundays, Wednesday evenings, and special events.Serve as a positive Christian role model and mentor to young people.Program & Event Support
Help plan, promote, and execute special events, camps, retreats, service projects, and mission trips.Assist with setup, breakdown, and organization of supplies and equipment for activities.Ensure ministry spaces are clean, safe, and welcoming, following church safety policies.Support preparation of weekly curriculum and class materials.Administrative Assistance & Communication
Perform general administrative tasks such as maintaining databases, filing, and managing correspondence.Assist with social media management and create promotional materials for church publications.Support volunteer recruitment, scheduling, and appreciation processes, ensuring background checks are completed.Coordinate logistics, including room setup and scheduling events on the church calendar.Qualifications & Requirements
A growing personal commitment to Jesus Christ and a lifestyle consistent with the church's beliefs.Some college education preferred or current enrollment in an undergraduate/graduate program.Previous experience serving or volunteering in children's or student ministry is a plus.Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for working with staff, volunteers, children, and parents.Basic computer proficiency and willingness to learn church-specific software (e.g., Planning Center, ProPresenter).Must pass a criminal background check and complete child safety training.Reliable transportation to and from the church and off-site events.Working Conditions
Flexible hours, including weekends (Sunday mornings) and occasional evenings for events and meetings.Physical tasks may include lifting up to 25–50 lbs., standing for extended periods, and classroom setup/cleanup.Compensation
$18/hour for approximately 15 hours per week.To Apply
