Student Ministry Leader: Westkirk Presbyterian Church

Job Description:

• Finding/developing and teaching curriculum for Westkirk on Wednesday (WOW) as well as Sunday school for middle schoolers.

• Planning, coordinating, and leading youth events and retreats.
• Developing relationships one on one with 6-12th grade students.
• Developing and leading a volunteer team.

Other duties as assigned.

Position Qualifications:

• A robust and growing faith in the Lord Jesus Christ.
• A strong biblical and theological knowledge.
• A member in good standing in the PCA or another NAPARC denomination committed to the Reformed Faith.
• An understanding and passion for youth ministry and the associated needs.
• Good organizational skills.
• Excellent communication skills.
• The ability to minister to parents.
• Experience in youth ministry leadership.
• Good time management skills.
• Teachable and open to feedback.

Westkirk is a vibrant PCA church in Urbandale, a suburb of Des Moines, IA. We are looking for a man called to full time youth ministry who is also pursuing ordination or consideration to pursuing ordination. The position would start as a staff position but could grow into an Assistant Pastor position. We are currently served by a transitional Senior Pastor and one Associate Pastor along with a Children's Ministry Director. We are especially interested in candidates from the Midwest.
