Job Description:

Serve the youth of Adairville Baptist Church and their families by coordinating and administering a ministry of middle and high school youth seeking to know and share the love of Jesus Christ.

Reports to: Pastor and Youth Council

Qualifications:

At a minimum, demonstrate the following:

· A commitment to Jesus Christ as a Savior and Lord, and the church body.

· A call to ministry with respect to the Southern Baptist expression of faith.

· Ability to work with adults, youth, Youth Council, Pastor, and Parents.

· Verbal and written communication skills with the ability to work and serve others.

· Ability to plan, organize, lead, and guide activities related to youth ministries.

· Competence in basic lay counseling and listening skills appropriate for church ministry.

Principle Duties and Responsibilities with Students:

· Planning, conducting, coordinating, evaluating, selecting, and providing resources for the church's ministry of youth.

· Responsibility for the calendar planning of youth ministry events and activities.

· Coordinate and/or teach all aspects of the Middle School/High School age Sunday morning, Sunday night, and Wednesday night Bible Study in addition to selected summer activities. Will be responsible for coordinating 3 lessons per week.

· Coordinate all aspects of the 6-12 Grade Youth Group, ensuring there is opportunity to develop fellowship, spiritual formation, discipleship, and the experiencing of Christian community. Various material and age-appropriate styles of presentation are encouraged. Opportunity should also be given for youth to plan mission responses, witness events, fellowship experiences and trips as well as other recreational activities.

· Oversee and implement fundraising for youth ministry needs such as camp, retreats, mission trips, etc.

· Plan outings for youth in keeping with good Christian faith beliefs and values. All outings must include a short bible devotion.

· Plan and oversee youth impact events such as D-Now. Responsibilities would include securing event, Bible study leaders, food, travel and lodging arrangements, etc.

· Submit request(s) to responsible leadership for funds, transportation, and chaperones needed for youth trips, retreats, and mission/work camp. As a rule, you need 2-3 adults for every co-ed activity you plan. Each van should have 2 adults on it when traveling.

· Develop relationships and maintain regular communication with parents and youth via phone calls, texts, email, and all types of social media. Group Texting should include the parents and Youth Council.

· Lead and equip the Children's Ministry servant team and develop new leaders to join this team.

· Lead and equip the Student Ministry servant team and develop new leaders to join this team.

· Schedule regular Youth Council meetings every four to six weeks. Opportunity to develop spiritual growth and event planning with the Pastor and Youth council. Pastor and Youth Council are here to help you be successful.

· Perform other duties assigned by the Pastor.

· Aid in worship services assigned.

· Perform services ascribed to ordained ministers.

· Share current and future goals with Pastor and Youth Council.

· The man called to this position will also be expected to exhibit competence in other pastoral duties as needs arise within the church (preaching/teaching, visiting, etc.)

Administrative Responsibilities:

· Attend regular and/or specially called staff meetings and retreats, as required.

· Prepare and turn in youth announcements for weekly bulletin to ABC Administrative Assistant.

Salary Grade:

As recommended by the Youth Council and established by the annual Stewardship Committee. It will be considered as Full-Time salaried position. Salary is negotiable based on experience and expectations.
