Student Pastor
Job Description: Student Pastor (Grades 6-12) Position Title: Student Pastor Reports To: Senior Pastor Location: FBC Lutz in Lutz, FLPosition Type: Full-Time Position SummaryThe Student Pastor will provide spiritual leadership and direction to students in grades 6-12, fostering their growth in faith, community, and service. This role includes planning and executing engaging programs, events, and outreach efforts while actively collaborating with local schools and Christian clubs, such as FCA (Fellowship of Christian Athletes) and First Priority. The Student Pastor will also need to help parents have the resources and needs to disciple and raise their children in the Lord. Key Responsibilities – Spiritual Leadership: – Lead and facilitate youth worship services, Bible studies, and small groups. – Mentor and guide students in their faith journey, encouraging personal and spiritual development. – Event Planning and Execution: – Develop and implement a dynamic calendar of youth events, including retreats, camps, mission trips, and social gatherings. – Plan and coordinate regular meetings and activities that foster fellowship, worship, and community service. – Budget Management: – Create and manage the youth ministry budget, ensuring responsible stewardship of church resources. – Find creative ways to reach the community with Budget. – Collaboration with Schools: – Build relationships with local schools and community organizations to promote and support Christian clubs like FCA and First Priority. – Facilitate youth involvement in school events and activities, encouraging outreach and service opportunities. – Attend students' sporting events and extra-curricular activities at local schools. – Volunteer Recruitment and Training: – Recruit, train, and support adult volunteers to assist with youth programs and events. – Develop a team of leaders to engage and mentor students effectively. – Family Ministry and Discipleship: – Reach out to families of students and help them get connected to FBC Lutz. – Partner with families to instill a culture of discipleship. – Help build/foster a multi-generational ministry by helping members of all generations be connected to the student ministry. – Communication and Outreach: – Promote youth events through social media, newsletters, and church announcements. – Engage with parents and guardians to keep them informed and involved in their student's individual growth. – Evaluation and Feedback: – Regularly assess the effectiveness of youth programs and events, seeking feedback from students and parents. – Adjust programming as needed to better meet the needs of the Student Ministry. Qualifications – Education: A bachelor's in theology, youth ministry, education, or a related field is preferred.– Experience: Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in youth ministry or related roles, with a demonstrated ability to lead and engage youth.– Skills: – Strong leadership and interpersonal skills. – Excellent communication and organizational abilities. – Ability to relate to and connect with students in grades 6-12. – Proficiency in using social media and other communication tools effectively.– Adhere to the Baptist Faith and Message 2000 – Personal Qualities: – A mature Christian faith and a passion for youth ministry. – A team player who is enthusiastic, approachable, and empathetic – A hard worker who is willing to grow a ministry Additional Requirements – Must pass a background check.– We would prefer a candidate who is married and equally yoked with his spouse.
