The position of the Student Pastor of First Baptist New Tazewell is intended to lead the church to reach, evangelize, disciple, and teach the students. The Student Pastor is to lead by example, specifically by demonstrating to the students what it means to be a disciple of Christ. The Student Pastor is to ensure that the college, youth, and children departments are effectively facilitated within the church, and to express the wants, hopes, and needs of the students to the congregation. The Student Pastor is to oversee the selection and implementation of curriculum for the college, youth, and children programs; as well as supervise the scheduling and facilitation of those programs. The Student Pastor is to show support and encouragement to the students by organizing and leading special services and events relevant to them. The Student Pastor is to be a biblical mentor and moral advisor for the students as they progress through the developmental stages of life. The Student Pastor is to facilitate programs within the church that will point youth and children to Christ, and lead the students to grow spiritually, mentally, and socially. The Student Pastor will utilize means such as Drama, puppets, VBS, Christian theater, Bible studies, small groups, conferences, special programs, and so forth to accomplish the goal of effective student ministry.

The Salary and benefits package will be based upon the applicants evidence of a call, ministry experience, and education level.
