Student Pastor

Job Overview

Fondren Church is seeking a full-time Student Pastor to lead Middle Schoolers, High Schoolers, and their families. The Student Pastor manifests Jesus's heart to lead children to know Him (Mark 10:13-16) and champions the formation of the Church through the God-ordained channel of the family unit (Deut. 6:4-7; Matt. 22:34-40). The Student Pastor is expected to be a growing disciple of Jesus, a student of God's Word, committed to the development of leaders, and allow the Holy Spirit to guide the Student Ministry at Fondren Church.

Our Student Pastor will aim to make disciples of Students through a relational ministry style. The ability to connect with both Students and parents will be essential toward that ultimate goal. As such, this person must be an effective and followable leader who can build and grow a Student Ministry. This leader should be authentic and highly relational with their teams and ministry. A degree of administrative skill is necessary to oversee and coordinate the ministry. This leader must be a team player willing to pitch in where needed for the overall good of the team. Job Description

Responsibility #1: Pastor and Equip Students ● Plan, develop, promote, communicate, and lead regularly scheduled gatherings. ● Ensure the safety and security of Students by implementing and enforcing policies and procedures. ● Maintain a regular rhythm of school visits, attending events, and meeting with students.

Responsibility #2: Equip leaders and families to disciple Students ● Develop a team of volunteers to disciple Students in small group environments to learn spiritual disciplines, develop significant adult relationships, and encourage their faith. ● Recruit, equip, and lead volunteers to be key influencers in the lives of Students. ● Partner with parents to champion the value of parents as disciple-makers.

Responsibility #3: Organize trips and events where discipleship can flourish ● Schedule, promote, communicate, and coordinate specific trips, retreats, local missions opportunities, events, and/or conferences for Students.

Responsibility #4: Connect unconnected Students and families to the Ministry ● Identify and engage families and Students who attend our weekly worship services, but are not connected to our Student Ministry. ● Develop and build relationships with teachers, administrators, and coaches in local schools. ● Develop and build relationships with students and families in the Fondren neighborhood. ● Assist as needed in Outreach efforts and Community Center programming.

Responsibility #5: Evaluate the Ministry and manage the budget ● Evaluate the key performance indicators for the ministry and manage the budget. ● Report findings, diagnose problems, and find solutions.
