The Student Pastor will champion the middle and high school ministry by providing leadership, direction and strategy to the student ministry team in order to invite students into a living relationship with Jesus Christ.

Good Shepherd Church of Charlotte has an established student ministry complete with a student ministry staff team, a consistent group of volunteers leading Student LifeGroups weekly, a healthy budget and amazing facilities. We’re looking for candidates who love Jesus, adore the scriptures and have experience leading a large student ministry. And together, we can invite more students into a living relationship with Jesus Christ.

Job Description

• Align the student ministry with the Family Ministry strategy while keeping it in step with the overall mission, vision and values of Good Shepherd

• Partner with parents through empowering student ministry leaders to build a relationship with parents and their students

• Communicate with parents, students and volunteer leaders regularly and effectively

• Serve as the primary communicator for the student ministry

• Create and design the weekly worship gatherings for high school students that exalt Christ and teach biblical truths

• Supervise the student ministry staff team by collaborating weekly to coordinate regular programming and special events

• Set a positive personal example of a life lived passionately for Jesus

• Recruit, train, develop and lead the student ministry volunteer team

• Create and steward the student ministry budget annually

• Develop and direct student ministry annual events

• Direct and lead student ministry mission opportunities—local, domestic and international

• Build relationships with students and families by attending student events both on and off school grounds

• Attend adult worship service weekly and connect in an adult LifeGroup

• Assist with all other duties as assigned
