As the Student Pastor, your primary role is to lead our discipleship efforts among students and their families by creating engaging and relational environments where they are welcomed, loved, cared for, and discipled into passionate followers of Jesus. You will work as part of our broader Family Discipleship Team to ensure families are holistically equipped and inspired to follow Jesus.
Job Description
Primary Responsibilities
- Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Demonstrating outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, accompanied by a positive attitude, when engaging with students in grades 7-12.
- Spiritual Growth and Development: Ensuring the spiritual growth and development of students, guiding them to grow in their understanding of life in Christ and the values of the Christian faith.
- Creative Program Design: Utilizing creativity to design and implement new, innovative ways for students to engage with and learn about Christ.
- Collaboration with GPS Team: Working closely with the GPS team to create and lead programs that resonate with students and foster spiritual development.
- Volunteer Recruitment and Training: Recruiting, training, and equipping volunteers to effectively support and lead within the student ministry.
- Volunteer Leadership Development: Developing and empowering volunteers to take leadership roles within the student ministry, enabling them to guide students in their faith journey.
- Innovative and Biblically Sound Gatherings: Identifying and executing creative, yet biblically grounded, student gatherings that promote spiritual growth and community.
- Community Outreach and Engagement: Partnering with the GPS team to develop and maintain outreach efforts that connect with both students and their parents in the community.
- Family Follow-Up: Ensuring consistent follow-up with families who have youth-aged children to foster deeper connections and spiritual support.
- School Relationships: Building and maintaining relationships with junior high and senior high campuses in Northwest Arkansas to enhance the reach and impact of the student ministry.
Secondary Responsibilities
- Actively participate in GPStudent Team meetings.
- Join with team to maintain GPS budget
- All staff members should plan to participate in church wide events and lend their assistance and support to
- the total church programs.
- Serve on rotation as On-Call Pastor
