Part-Time Student Pastor Job Description Principle Function: The Student Pastor, under the direction of the Senior Pastor, shall develop a Christ-centered ministry to youth and their parents. He will work with the staff and volunteer leadership in regard to activities, policies and procedures that relate to this area of responsibility. He is to be conscious of the overall ministry of the church and should take every opportunity to lead people to Christ and disciple believers to Christian maturity.

Qualifications: 1. A growing, mature, Christian man who meets the biblical qualifications for a pastor/elder found in 1Timothy 3:1-7 and Titus 1:6-9 2. Able to affirm the Baptist Faith & Message 2000 (doctrinal statement of the church and the Southern Baptist Convention) and articulate a personal understanding of doctrinal positions expressed in this statement of faith. 3. Outgoing personality and strong people skills who must relate to people of all ages. 4. Able to work cooperatively with all members of the church staff.

Duties: As related to overall Youth Ministry: 1. Plan and organize all activities designed to minister to youth and their families. This would include, but is not limited to: camps, retreats, conferences, outreach events, etc. 2. Enlist and train youth workers and adult volunteers. 3. Work with the Pastor in developing and implementing an effective and consistent outreach ministry to students and their parents. 4. Make church budget recommendations for a viable youth ministry. 5. Be an active and visual part of the community and campus life. 6. Seek to develop student leaders within the Youth Ministry

As related to Youth Programs: 1. Develop and direct the curriculum for programs as needed for a well-balanced youth program, such as: a. Youth Sunday School; Youth Discipleship (Ongoing or Periodically); Youth Worship on Wednesday Nights

As related to Special Youth Activities: 1. Plan, coordinate, conduct, and evaluate special events (Disciple Now, Camps, Mission Trips, etc.) 2. Provide ministry opportunities for youth by the use of conferences, guest speakers, or retreats. 3. Plan publicity and promotion for all phases of the Youth Ministry, especially as regards announcements for Sundays and consistent communication with parents.

As related to Counseling: 1. Counseling youth seeking salvation and Church membership. 2. Advise other professional help where needed.

As related to General Responsibilities: 1. Participate in Worship Services as assigned by the Pastor. 2. Assist the pastor with visitation as assigned. 3. Perform all other duties as assigned by the Pastor. 4. Have an active role in supporting and participating in other church ministries.
