Support Coach Specialist
Job Overview
The Support Coach Specialist has experience in Social Work or related field; ability to multitask, excellent verbal communication skills, decisiveness, discernment, flexibility, objectiveness, perceptiveness, good organizational skills, foresight, discreet in dealing with sensitive and confidential information, strong faith.
In addition to these qualities, the Support Coach Specialist must work well in a team environment and should communicate case updates with the director and among the team when appropriate.
Job Description
Responsibilities:
Manage Caseload
Work with Parents
- Walk alongside parents and provide spiritual mentorship
- Connect parents to community resources
- Advocate on behalf of parent
Communicate with Host Families and Support Friends
- Attend all scheduled home visits and check ins with support volunteers
- Complete home visits in a timely and efficient manner (24-48 hours after intake, weekly, bi-weekly as case unfolds)
- Clearly communicate case updates as needed with support volunteers
- Be available and flexible for case needs that happen outside of business hours
Database and Notetaking
- Have a general understanding of our database system
- Track and enter all case notes in database system in a timely manner
Possible Opportunities to Provide Supervision to Support Coach Volunteers
- Provide shadowing opportunities to Support Coach volunteers
- Maintain regular contact with Support Coach volunteers when assigned as Supervisor
- Review volunteer's case notes and database entries
- Be available for emergency needs
- Communicate case needs with director and staff team when appropriate
