PURPOSE:

Ashland Church is seeking a Technical Director (formerly, ‘Sound Technician') who has a strong and abiding faith in Jesus Christ, as well as a commitment to Ashland Church's mission of "building an inspired community that creatively and compassionately connects people to Jesus Christ".

SUMMARY OF DUTIES:

• Ensuring that all sound and Video equipment is on and functioning before the worship team arrives
• Control the sound mix for both the house and stage / in-ear monitors
• Make the service sound as unnoticeable as possible so that the focus is on Jesus

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Technical expertise related to running sound, projection, and live streaming.
• Have a good ear for music / audio quality
• Detail-oriented, thorough in pre-service preparations
• Able to pay attention to service cues while also being alert to any audio/video issues that might suddenly arise

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Run sound/projection at rehearsals (currently Thursday evenings) and prepare sound and lyric slides for Sunday morning.
• Have all systems on and ready before the Sunday morning run-through
• Confirm who will be singing / playing so that volume levels and EQs can be customized for the individuals on stage
• Perform mic and battery checks on every wireless mic before service begins.

• Maintain a vital relationship with Jesus Christ.
• Run sound/Video projection week-to-week leading volunteers in the Tech Team ministry.
• Grow at craft like any musician would
• Pursue excellence while exuding an attitude of worship

Compensation:

Starting at $17-$20 per hour. Currently 6-12 hours per week. It could also be combined with other paid ministry positions depending on gifts, abilities, and desire to minister in other roles.
