Job Description

Oversee Gatherings & Special Events:

  • Execute and oversee all technical aspects of live worship services, including audio mixing, lighting design, video production, live-streaming, and stage design.
  • Collaborate with the Music Director to plan and execute rehearsals, services and special events at a high level of excellence.
  • Proactively work with other Staff Team Members to make sure any media & tech needs are met for special events and ongoing events.
  • Design lighting cues for each song, transition, and elements within the service.
  • Incorporate automation for lighting cues, lyrics, and tracks when needed.
  • Oversee all visual elements through ProPresenter.

Lead the Tech Team:

  • Recruit, train, and lead a team of volunteers, providing guidance and support for their roles on the production team.
  • In partnership with the Music Director, foster a positive and fun team environment while making sure everyone understands their responsibilities.
  • Provide at least 2 training days and 1 appreciation event per year for all volunteers under your leadership.

Keep the Gear in Check:

  • Take care of all the "tech toys" – check if they're working, fix them if they're not, and submit proposals for upgrades when needed.
  • Stay on top of the latest tech trends and suggest improvements to keep things cutting-edge and, more importantly, efficient.
  • Stay organized – keep all areas usable, accessible, clean, and organized.
  • Provide IT and tech support for staff and applicable volunteers

Quality Control:

  • Implement and enforce standards for audio, video, and lighting quality during all church services.
  • Keep an eye on the equipment, do regular checks, and be thinking about ways to make everything even better.

Keep Everyone in the Loop:

  • Effectively communicate technical requirements, schedules, and expectations to relevant teams and volunteers.
  • Regularly update and train volunteers with any new tech, training the tech volunteers to understand the systems so that they are able to solve problems and troubleshoot issues.
  • Update informational help-sheets to be relevant to current day use.
  • Work with the pastors, staff team members, and other teams to make sure the production fits the overall vision and mission of the church.
