Job Description
Responsibilities:
● Foster a Christ-centered learning environment: Teach Upper School Math and Science, focusing on academic rigor, biblical principles, and classical methods while nurturing students' hearts and minds. ● Build relationships with students: Be a compassionate, approachable presence in the lives of your students, helping them grow spiritually, academically, and personally. ● Collaborate with fellow teachers: Actively participate in faculty meetings, prayer times, and school events, contributing to the school's mission of nurturing students who love the Lord and are equipped to serve Him. ● Create a well-managed classroom: Maintain a disciplined and respectful classroom environment, implementing effective classroom management strategies while being flexible and responsive to students' needs. ● Engage with parents: Hold bi-annual parent conferences, communicate regularly with families about student progress, and be available for additional meetings as needed. ● Supervise extracurricular activities: Assist with supervising school events, extracurricular activities, and outings as assigned. ● Contribute to the school community: Assist with duties such as playground or gymnasium supervision, classroom cleaning and upkeep, and other duties as assigned by the administration.
● Administrative responsibilities: Complete required paperwork, including progress reports, report cards, grade records, and achievement tests. Assist in maintaining classroom supplies and equipment inventories.
Qualifications:
● Educational and professional background: A bachelor's or master's degree in a related field. Experience in a classical Christian education environment is preferred but not required. If such experience is not present, candidates must be eager and willing to learn and adopt the classical Christian education model. ● Spiritual maturity: A vibrant relationship with Jesus Christ, demonstrated through personal character and a desire to disciple students in their faith.
Skills and experience:
● Strong classroom management skills and the ability to teach students with a wide range of learning styles. ● Excellent time management and organizational abilities. ● Flexibility and a collaborative spirit, with the ability to work effectively in a team.
