Position Overview: The Vice President of Donor Relations and Development will spearhead HOC's fundraising and donor engagement strategy, helping secure the financial support necessary for HOC's operational, domestic and international initiatives. This leader will build and maintain relationships with individual donors and church communities, while leading a team to drive grant research and acquisition efforts. An impactful storyteller and strategic thinker, the VP will develop and implement an inspiring, results-oriented donor engagement plan that aligns with HOC's mission and growth goals. Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Strategic Fundraising Leadership:
    • Develop and execute a comprehensive donor relations and fundraising strategy to achieve annual and long-term financial goals.
    • Lead the cultivation of high-impact donor relationships, engaging high-net-worth individuals, church leaders, and partner organizations.
    • Create donor engagement initiatives that reflect HOC's mission and values, ensuring all communications authentically convey a biblical understanding of giving and generosity.
  2. Team Building and Development:
    • Recruit, train, and lead a dedicated team for grant research and proposal writing, empowering team members to support fundraising efforts effectively.
    • Build a collaborative team culture that emphasizes proactive communication, creativity, and accountability.
  3. Relationship Cultivation and Stewardship:
    • Engage with current and prospective donors through regular updates, personalized correspondence, and events to enhance donor commitment and retention.
    • Deliver impactful presentations and preach in church settings, effectively articulating HOC's mission and opportunities for support.
    • Manage HOC's legacy giving program, educating donors on legacy planning, stocks, cryptocurrency, and other non-cash giving avenues.
  4. Grant Acquisition and Management:
    • Oversee the grant research and writing team, identifying opportunities to secure funding through institutional and foundation grants.
    • Establish effective grant tracking and reporting mechanisms, ensuring compliance and regular communication with grantors.
  5. Data-Driven Impact Measurement:
    • Set clear, measurable objectives for donor engagement and fundraising activities, regularly analyzing progress and impact.
    • Utilize data insights to refine strategies, optimize donor outreach efforts, and demonstrate HOC's tangible impact to stakeholders.

Qualifications:

    • Growing in a knowledge and grace-filled relationship with Jesus Christ.
    • Active member of a local church.
    • 10+ years of experience with a proven track record of success in fundraising, donor relations, and development, within mission-driven, faith-based organizations.
    • Experience working with high-net-worth individuals, churches, and faith-based communities, with the ability to connect, inspire, and cultivate long-lasting relationships.
    • Familiarity with non-cash giving, including stocks, legacy giving, and cryptocurrency donations, and a solid understanding of legacy planning.
    • Bachelor's degree required. Masters Preferred.
  • Skills and Attributes:
    • Strong communication skills, comfortable presenting, preaching, and speaking at churches or events.
    • Ability to create a donor-centric storytelling narrative that highlights HOC's mission and the biblical values of generosity and stewardship.
    • Exceptional strategic thinking and project management skills, with an ability to work independently and in team settings.

Work Environment:

      • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally as needed to meet with donors, visit program sites, and represent HOC at conferences and events.
      • Remote position with flexibility in work hours.
