Job Description
The Women's Ministries Director (WMD) is primarily responsible for casting a vision for women's discipleship within our church and the engagement of women in our local communities. This includes care, integration, teaching, equipping, and discipling the women of the congregation in the knowledge, love and following of Jesus in their hearts, minds, affections and choices, as well as in their witness and service to our local community. The WMD is tasked with encouraging our church, and women in particular to follow Jesus in a more mature, passionate, prayerful, and fruitful way.
Objectives Of This Role
The WMD will focus on encouraging spiritual growth, and meeting the diverse needs of all women within our multicultural church community. This position requires someone who is biblically grounded, culturally sensitive, and committed to relational ministry, with a strong desire to serve and empower others through the work of the Holy Spirit. The WMD develops and leads the Women's Ministry Team in the vision, planning, and oversight of Women's Ministry at Stone Hill Church.
Job Description
Essential Responsibilities and Duties
Leadership
● Establishes the vision and purpose of women's ministries, ensuring alignment with the church's mission, beliefs, and values.
● Brings sound biblical and theological teaching, through women's studies, classes, and discussions that encourage spiritual growth, knowledge, and application of biblical principles.
● Leads by example in maintaining a strong relationship with the Lord, modeling spiritual maturity, and creating opportunities for prayer and worship within the women's ministry.
● Prioritizes prayer in all aspects of leadership and ministry, making decisions in line with biblical principles, focusing on growth, outreach and support for women at all stages of life.
● Fosters an atmosphere of encouragement, building up the ministry's teams and individual women, such that the needs of women are met through a collaborative approach.
● Collaborates with ministry staff and volunteer teams to coordinate care, prayer, and outreach to and for women appropriately.
● Maintains regular office hours and availability for responsibilities like teaching, mentoring, and discipling. Team Development and Training
● Identifies, recruits, and equips team(s) of volunteer leaders to serve alongside the director in various areas of women's ministry including, but not limited to fellowship events, Bible studies, and the women's retreat.
● Develops and implements regular training, guidance and support for volunteer teams to ensure a high standard of ministry care and leadership.
Cultural Sensitivity & Awareness
● Stays informed of the diverse needs within the congregation, recognizing the unique circumstances and backgrounds of different women's cohorts.
● Leads with compassion, empathy, and a heart for understanding the challenges faced by women in various life stages.
Counseling & Support
● Works closely with the (pastoral) staff and be part of the care team to provide compassionate care while maintaining appropriate boundaries and ethical standards for women with emotional, spiritual and relational needs, especially in times of crisis.
● Actively listens to women's concerns, providing counsel and support while guiding them toward biblical solutions, knowing limitations of church guidance.
Communication and Networking
● Develops and maintains relationships with women inside and outside the church, creating connections that build a broader, inclusive network of women's ministry support.
● Closely collaborates with the Communications Manager to keep the congregation and local community informed about upcoming opportunities.

● Invest in and invite others to know Jesus and come to Stone Hill Church Spiritual ● Be a believer of Jesus Christ with a desire to humbly serve the Lord.
● Agree with Stone Hill Church by-laws, doctrinal and mission statements, Peacemakers' Pledge, and staff covenant. Agree to fully support Stone Hill Church programs, practices, and teaching positions (e.g., complementarianism, accept infant baptism).
● Live a life of integrity in growing conformity to the standards of spiritual leadership set forth in Scripture (e.g. 1 Tim 3:1-7, Titus 1:6-9, Gal. 5:22).
Education
A Bachelor's degree accepted, master's preferred, in Christian Education, Bible, Counseling or a related field
Experience
● Experience in women's ministry or a similar leadership role.
● Experience in ministry or related fields with a willingness to learn and grow.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
● Commitment to interact with people in a godly, gracious, and courteous manner.
● Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Demonstrated ability to network, build relationships, and maintain strong communication within the church and broader community.
● Maintain a long-term pursuit of learning and a passion for the life of the mind.
● Be a self-starter and initiative taker.
● Maintains a spirit of flexibility in ministry as the needs of the congregation evolve.
● Able to connect women to the church and to one another in meaningful ways.
● Proven track record of building and leading volunteer teams.
● Ability to work collaboratively and accept guidance from church leadership.
Preferred Qualifications
● Seminary training in theology, ministry, or a related field.
● Social work or counseling experience is highly preferred.
Reporting
The Women's Ministries Director reports to the Assistant Pastor/Executive Team Member, who will provide appropriate supervision, guidance, and mentoring. Elder(s) responsible for Adult Ministries may provide additional oversight. The WMD, like all other staff, is ultimately accountable to the Board of Elders. The Board of Elders may change reporting relationships at its discretion.
Working Conditions | Schedule
This is a full-time salaried position. For greater effectiveness, this position will require nontraditional working hours, including some evenings and weekends.
