Job Overview

Summary of the Position: The Church of the Beloved is looking for a Worship Director (WD) to lead our worship ministry. The WD will work closely with the pastoral team, audio/visual team, and worship team volunteers to ensure the Sunday music ministry supports the overall mission of the church and to provide meaningful worship experiences. This position also requires the WD to serve not solely in a musical role but also as a discipler and shepherd to the volunteers who serve in the Worship Ministry.

Job Description

Key Duties and Responsibilities (include, but are not limited to):

Leading Worship and Rehearsal Leading rehearsals ahead of services and worship on Sundays. The goal for the WD is to eventually lead 3 times per month max, as other worship leaders are developed and ready to lead.

Managing Planning Center Online (PCO) Database management will include: ● Managing volunteer schedules and contact info ● Updating resources for song preparation, musicianship, team communications, etc. ● Training leaders on how to utilize certain functions in PCO

Set Planning/Playlist Management/Correspondence Creating Sunday setlists that are both theologically strong and contextually appropriate for the church, planning how and when we introduce different songs, updating our church Spotify playlist to reflect new songs on the horizon and in the current rotation.

Instrument and Equipment Maintenance Maintaining church instruments and overseeing maintenance of keyboard, cajon, etc.

Coordinating Worship Team Gatherings Build rapport with teams by meeting outside of Sundays at regular intervals for a meal, worship, prayer, and discipleship.

Leadership Training

Meetings with worship ministry volunteers and future leaders to facilitate, cast vision, and help ministry leaders with the work at COTB.

Leading Worship for Special Services Prayer and Worship Services, Members Retreats, Baptism services, etc. Assisting to plan these special events with the church staff.

Key Relationships: Pastoral Team, Worship Ministry Volunteers, A/V Team, Staff

General Expectations: ● Pray daily for the Worship Ministry- volunteers, and church -staff and members. ● Regularly communicate concerns, questions, suggestions, etc. to key relationships.

● Have a deep understanding of scripture so song selection will be deeply rooted in God's word. ● Build relationships with Worship Team volunteers, encourage, shepherd, disciple them. ● Open to becoming a covenant member of the Church of the Beloved.

Qualifications: ● Personal commitment to gospel transformation in all areas of life. ● Enthusiastically embrace the vision, mission, and values of the Church of the Beloved. ● Demonstrated relational skills in cross-cultural contexts. ● Minimum of 2 years experience in worship ministry leadership. ● Conversant with large city ministry challenges – transience, cross-cultural issues, socio-economic diversity, etc.
