Job Overview

The Director of Worship serves the church by planning and leading music that accompanies the movements of our Sunday liturgy. In doing so, they help the congregation rehearse the gospel story through song—remembering who God is, what He has done, and how we are called to respond. This role includes collaborating with musicians, other worship leaders, and the sound team to ensure music is done with skill and joy, while cultivating a healthy team culture. Through diligent preparation and shepherding, the Director helps the church sing in a way that is aligned with what is being communicated from Scripture each Sunday.

Job Description

Priority Tasks:

• Curate and maintain the catalog of songs we sing as a church
• Collaborate with the week's preacher to plan songs for weekly worship that align with the sermon text, and the overall flow of the service
• Help integrate musical and liturgical elements during the seasons of the church year (e.g. Lent, Good Friday, Easter, Advent, etc.)
• Oversee and support the live sound team, ensuring quality and consistency in audio for worship gatherings
• Coordinate music for special church events (Liturgical year, Member meetings, Retreats, etc.)
• Provide input and oversight for the annual music and sound budget
• Provide oversight for the upkeep and acquisition of sound equipment and musical instruments
• Manage weekly service details and team scheduling through Planning Center Online

• Evident Christ-like character.

• High EQ (Emotional Intelligence) to navigate interpersonal relationships with the goal of peacemaking.

• Ability to catalyze and organize a team.

• Aptitude for clear and compelling verbal and written communication.

• Strong vocal ability, proficiency in playing the piano and/or guitar, and in leading band dynamics

• A strong team player and a strong team leader
