Worship Director

Music Director (Part-time)

General Overview:

He shall direct the planning, organizing, and conducting of a God-honoring music program.

Specifically:

He must possess a call to the local church with a heart for God, His people, and the lost and a desire to live out a life of worship. He must have strong interpersonal skills and should represent Christ and His church well in the community at large.

Primary Responsibilities:

Lead and direct all areas of the music/media ministry

Select music that aligns with the doctrine and theology of the Baptist Faith & Message

Plan all Sunday and Wednesday services

Lead special emphasis services (i.e. Easter, Christmas, Revivals, Combined events)

Supervise and mentor Praise team members and Instrumentalists

Supervise and mentor any Worship Intern

General Duties:

Be available 30 minutes prior to any worship/praise team gathering

Plan and lead all rehearsals

Oversee the media/audio team

Oversee all social media platforms of the church

Other Responsibilities/Duties:

1. Create an inviting worship atmosphere, a space in which people can meet with God

2. Lead the worship community in growing their relationship with the Lord

3. Cultivate a God-honoring culture of worship among the congregation

4. Be prepared to lead congregational singing (collective or solo)

5. Be able to read Scripture and pray as needed

6. Be available for special services including funerals (optional)

7. Participate in local and global mission efforts (as available)

8. Participate in community, state, and national worship conventions (optional)

9. Network with and learn from SBC Worship Pastors/Directors

10. Continually invest in the spiritual growth of your own family

11. Be available to the Senior Pastor

12. Serve as a member of the Church Council

Requirements:

1. Must profess Christianity and provide conversion in a written statement

2. Ability to communicate effectively, verbally, and in correspondence

3. Ability to relate to people as individuals

4. Must be willing to actively witness and evangelize to the lost

5. Ability to lead the congregation in Biblical worship

6. Ability to lead musically

7. Ability to work alongside the church staff

Preference:

1. Called by God to serve Him by leading the music ministry

2. Skill in organizing and directing a music ministry program

3. Maintain a residence in a location which allows easy mobility to FABC

4. Agree to all areas of the SBC doctrine (Baptist Faith & Message 2000)

5. Seminary graduate or training or willingness to receive such training

6. A minimum of 2 years' experience in Church Ministry

7. Mentor and grow each member under his leadership by developing their musical gifts

Reporting:

This position reports to the Senior Pastor
