Worship Director

Job Overview

We are seeking a part-time Worship Director who is spiritually and emotionally healthy and is excited to use their gifts to help us make disciples both in our church and in our community through our Sunday worship gathering.

The person God is calling will partner with our pastors and worship leaders to help plan and lead our weekly Sunday worship gathering, helping to prepare the team for each week. They will also focus on equipping our worship team, including developing new and existing worship team members, supporting leaders in our tech areas, while also overseeing our worship budget and equipment needs. This position reports to the Lead Pastor.

Part-Time, 15-20 Hours a week– flexible schedule with some set hours (Sundays and staff meetings)

Salary Range: $25-$30 an hour (depending on experience)

Education & Experience:

  • 2+ years experience leading or directing worship teams
  • Bachelor's degree preferred
  • We are open to leaders God is calling who have taken a different equipping path depending on experience and skills

Worship Director Responsibilities

  • Partners with the Lead Pastor to help carry out a vision for forming disciples through our weekly Sunday worship gathering and liturgy.
  • Works with the Lead Pastor and Associate Pastor to plan the weekly Sunday gathering and liturgy.
  • Leads and supports a worship team (stage & tech) of approx. 35 people who help lead our weekly worship Gathering. This worship team includes: AV & Production Team, Worship Band & Leaders, Scripture Readers, and Communion Service Team.
    • Please note: Meadowbrook has two volunteer worship leaders, as well as leaders in areas of AV & Production. The Worship Director does not need to "lead" everything, but will partner with these leaders to help these teams continue to serve effectively.
    • The Worship Director may vocally lead the Sunday worship gathering or may partner with other Worship Leaders to lead.
    • Creates the team serving schedule and communicates with the team each week, ensuring they have what they need to lead each Sunday, including music, service order, charts and demo links.
    • Supports volunteers to ensure supporting worship elements (ProPresenter, lighting, etc) are ready for each Sunday gathering.
    • Develops and equips new members of this worship team, including assessing team member gifts and readiness to serve.
  • Oversees the overall ‘environment' of the worship service and the space to bring focus and minimize distraction.
  • Partners with and supports key AV & Production Leaders to oversee the use, maintenance and repair of all production equipment that supports our worship gatherings.
  • Creates & manages the Worship Ministry budget for all related equipment, subscriptions and team development.

  • Enjoys working with a team, collaborates effectively, and doesn't take themselves too seriously in the process.
  • Demonstrated ability to quickly learn and use various software and digital tools.
  • Performs other duties as assigned/needed by the Lead Pastor.

Physical Requirements

  • Meadowbrook will work to reasonably accommodate all employees to meet the physical requirements of their role.
  • This role may include:
    • Sitting and moving around a building with level surfaces
    • Communicating with others in English
    • Working on a computer and using a telephone
    • Driving vehicles, including a church van
    • Occasionally lifting objects over fifteen pounds
