Job Description

General Responsibilities The Worship Director's primary responsibilities are to plan, lead, and direct the worship and music department of the church. Additional responsibilities include overseeing/working with the creative director. Other responsibilities also include pastoral duties such as shepherding volunteers. The position will also be assigned another minor pastoral duty, to be determined.

Staff Relationships The Worship Director is called by the Congregation upon the recommendation of the Sr. Pastor and vote of the Church Elder Board.

The Worship Director is a member of the pastoral staff of the church and meets regularly with the staff. The Worship Director reports to the Sr. Pastor and is reviewed by the Sr. Pastor and elder designated to encourage the Worship Pastor. 1. Regular attendance and participation at all staff meetings. 2. Accountable to the Senior Pastor. 3. Reviewed by the Senior Pastor and the elder assigned to the WP.

Responsibilities 1. Plan, conduct, and direct the worship service 2. Plan and implement the strategic objectives for the worship and music ministries 3. Recruit, train, and shepherd the people involved in the worship, music, and worship support ministries as a Pastor with a goal of training up skilled worship teams and leaders. 4. Oversee and co-lead special events of the church like Easter and Christmas services. 5. Organize and conduct music for special services (all subject to review each year) 6. Pastoral duties as assigned by the senior pastor. (This position is full time, and will include up to 10 hours of pastoral ministry in another area, like youth, small groups, counseling. This ministry will be determined by gifting and need)

Qualifications 1. Vibrant, growing, personal relationship with Jesus, marked by a deep commitment to prayer and holiness. 2. Live a life of listening and obeying the Holy Spirit's leading, even when it requires moving beyond your comfort zone. 3. Humble, teachable, and your identity is found in Christ, not on a platform. 4. Pastor's heart, with a genuine love for people and a desire to see them grow in their faith. 5. Support RVC's vision, purpose, and core values. 6. A working knowledge of the Bible (Bible college degree desired, but not required) 7. Spiritual gifts of administration, leadership, and shepherding 8. Formal music training (Bible college preferred) 9. Ability to lead congregation and other groups in worship 10. Demonstrated ability to lead worship from a primary instrument with strong vocal talent. 11. A relaxed, authentic, and engaging pastoral presence on the platform that draws people in, rather than just putting on a show. 12. Ability to craft a worship experience that is theologically rich and musically accessible to a multi-generational congregation. 13. Working knowledge of modern worship technology, including sound systems, lighting, social media platforms, and presentation software (DAW/ProPresenter/Waves/PCO) 14. Create and manage yearly budget for worship ministry 15. Oversee/direct team leads (IT/Audio/Media)

Additional Considerations 1. A work week of approximately 40 hours shall be established for this position, including the hours required on Sundays or Saturdays. 2. Compensatory time for short term deviations from normal work hours may be taken at the Sr. Pastors discretion, preferably within a week's time. All such adjustments should be arranged with the Sr. Pastor. 3. The church will provide work space appropriate to the job, with necessary office equipment. Normal expenses for materials and travel will be reimbursed from Pastoral Expenses, as approved by the Sr. Pastor. 4. Vacation commensurate with experience. 5. Salary to be determined by elders. Adjusted annually with the new budget (May 1st ) 6. Conference Expense budget with approval from the Sr. Pastor.
